Osprey is the main operator for The Edge Hotel at the new harbourside venture The Edge Coastal Activities Centre. We manage the luxurious guest rooms, meeting spaces, waterfront cafe and Lookout; bar on the mezzanine floor.
With its iconic design inspired by the red sandstone boulders emblematic of Cumbria’s coast and in a unique location with stunning uninterrupted sea views, The Edge is the perfect base from which to launch your adventures, whether you’re visiting the area for business or pleasure.
Delivered by Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners with support from Sellafield Ltd’s SiX programme and the government’s Coastal Communities Fund, The Edge provides community spaces, changing facilities and public toilets, as well as the café, Lookout and 16 en-suite rooms (all with sea views) managed by Osprey.

Against the ever-changing backdrop of the outer harbour approaches, our waterfront cafe’s menu features a selection of snacks and light meals plus a diverse range of refreshing hot and cold beverages.
Whether travelling to explore the area, a local seeking a welcoming retreat after a walk around the harbour, or an office professional looking for a convenient and relaxing break, our cafe offers the perfect venue to unwind and refuel.
Open to the public from 10am to 11pm, with food served until 9pm.
